Green Week: A Little Promise

a tiny treasure beginning to appear: the only green thing in my yard right now

All shades and tints of gray and brown surround us in this waiting-for-spring-to-arrive time of year.  The sun did shine down today, which is always a blessing, but I'm feeling rather impatient for the new season to begin.  So when I saw that Shining Egg (via Taking the Scenic Route), was having a Green Week this week, I thought I'd unofficially sneak join in.  Besides black being my number one choice of color, various shades of green are my second runners up... doubly perfect to join in!  Emily has even started up a flickr group just for the color.

Oh and by the way... Angry Chicken has a new apron theme and Shutter Sisters have a new word.

 close: to deny access, to suspend or stop, barring passage, bring to an end

close:  intimate; familiar, to be near

I finally decided. 

My word is close. 

I chose it because I like the fact that it has many different meanings depending on how you use it:

tightly fitted
carefully guarded
to be near
intimate
familiar
very precise
attentive to detail
a narrow space
difficult to obtain
barring passage
enclose, contain
to bring or bind together
to fold, swing, slide
bring to an end
suspend or stop
deny access
to enter into
