My daughter's cards took more thought. She's a perfectionist, but she's also a procrastinator. Wonder where she gets it from. She had trouble figuring out what to do. At times, too many choices can overwhelm her, almost propelling her towards inactivity. I know how she feels!
I suggested that she keep it simple. Maybe make an overall repeat pattern or texture for the background (my textile training is trying to return)...
and perhaps add something to it. She chose colored pencil and oil pastels for the backgrounds, rubbing here and there and wiping away excess.
She used a homemade squirrel template and cut 5 little squirrels from various papers.
I think they're very sweet in their simplicity. I'm glad she didn't wait until the night before to complete them.
She really was enthusiastic about the whole process and is looking forward to receiving some special treats in the mail.
