Yesterday, I posted about the baby blankets in case you missed them...
Today, I'm showing you the duffers from last week which are now felted and ready to wear. Boy, they look awfully big against All the Small Poems and Fourteen More, don't they? I made the duffers for my husband and my oldest son, both of whom have large feet, but still! Just so you know...that book is smaller than average: only about 7.5" in length. I've had this book on my shelf for quite awhile and every now and then I love to pull it off the shelf and read a few poems. What I like about this group of poems is the simplicity of the words and every day subject matter written in an amusing and straightforward way without being ho-hum.
As for the duffers, the pattern is well-written, and I still find it fascinating to see their transformation from a few skeins of yarn into something that you can put on your feet.
When I make these again, I think I'll knit them even larger so that when I felt them in the washing machine, I can run them through more than twice in hopes that they will become thicker and denser.
Hop over to Ginny's blog (Small Things) to see lots of other interesting yarn projects and books.

They look so comfy and cozy! I agree it's amazing to watch balls of yarn turn into something so useful.

I just adore your duffers Ellen and have them on my list to make for my family. Thank you for the inspiration.
That is a great title for a book and now must find a copy!
Happy Yarn Along.
