Happy Monday!
I'm enjoying...
giggling at my youngest's artistic rendering of my husband...a pretty good likeness I think except my husband does not own a pair of pink pants...
watching new bathroom tile being laid down (did I use lay/lie correctly? hmm...)
baking a triple batch of banana chocolate bread (and ending up with 4 loaves instead of 3 - good thing!)...
finding it amazing how grown-up my two older ones are...
enjoying my daughter's new haircut and enjoying that's she's liking it now (no more tears)...
squeezing in a little bit of practical sewing...
wishing the bouquet of white tulips and hydrangea lasted a little while longer (leftovers from Valentine's day)...
loving how my two younger boys work well together...mostly...
happy for a new book in the mail and hoping to make more sewing time soon...
thankful to God for a new week ahead...
What are you enjoying?

I always love the format of these kind of posts of yours!!! (daughter should be very happy with that haircut--it's very cute!) I keep thinking I should be getting out my sewing machine, too--can't put the needles down long enough.

I have been curious if you use curriculum for your older kids or if you are eclectic? Your method seems very "Charlotte Mason" and I wonder if you homeschooled since the beginning. I may not be able to afford the private Catholic School my older (high school and middle school) children attend and am researching curriculum for next year. Any advice welcome.

Her haircut is beautiful! And she is too :) Hooray for you getting a new bathroom floor, love the tiles! I am looking forward to seeing what you create from your one yard wonders!

Are they powering a radio with a lemon? Mine did that a few weeks ago! Today it's a crystal radio, and homemade root beer:)

Corrabelle - they weren't powering a radio, just watching the meter work with a lemon and other foods, but the radio sounds interesting. Did you use a kit for the radio?

Dawn - yes, we've been homeschooling since the beginning and have used an eclectic approach with lots of various curriculums. Really, if I were starting all over again, I would choose to put more emphasis on the CM approach - we like the nature study and artist study and smaller increments of time that she encouraged. I wish I had had more drill time with memorization facts when the kids were younger - that would help now. I do like history to be chronologically arranged for the most part and we've done a lot of hands-on stuff with the 2 older ones. Now I'm going more back to basics - reading, writing(!) and math skills with my 2 younger ones. I'm learning as I am (still) going. Does that help or do you need more info? I think you can definitely try things and tailor to your high schooler. If I'm learning anything, it's how NOT to fall into the trap of comparing with public/private/other homeschool situations. That's tough for sure.

Fabulous... all of it. And tell your daughter that I think she looks absolutely striking! Great cut.
