Boy, these moments in between yarn along posts seem to be shortening. Don't you agree? For Ginny's Yarn Along this week, I made a tiny bit of progress on the Circle & Stripe Scarf for my husband. Unfortunately, the stitch pattern gets somewhat lost because of the choice of yarn, but he still likes it and rather than begin again with another pattern, I'm forging ahead.
In addition to all my wips tucked away in various places in the house, I chose some cotton blend yarn for two preemie baby blankets to give to a little boy and little girl (twins), born several weeks ago at only 25 weeks old. I'm still trying to choose between a few quick patterns: this pattern, this one or this one. Then there's always this one too, but am leaning towards the first one. I think. Do you have any suggestions?
Reading right now is returning to our homeschool books. My two younger ones and I are moving onto Ancient Greece, and these are 3 of the first books we'll cover. Should be fun. Bodily functions. Gore (not really). Blood & guts. (again, not really). Actually, one of these is not a book, but a writing book which uses learning writing by imitation. In this case, we're using Aesop's Fables as our subject to imitate.
What are you reading and knitting?

I like the second and fourth patterns best--but whatever you choose, it's going to look great; love your yarn colors!

I just love the colors for the twin blankets! What brand of yarn is that?

JNCL - it's Lion Brand Cotton-Ease. I like the yarn. I wish the company would increase its color choices for the line.

I love the classic looking pattern of the second blanket option. I'm sure it will be lovely (and loved) whatever you choose!

I think the Altadena ribbed blanket looks like a real piece of class, especially in that lovely grey... wish I hadn't made a promise to myself to use up my stash, I'm longing for a grey blanket now!!!
