Before: "the catch-all drawer"
Yesterday, I joined Money Saving Mom's and Life as Mom's cleaning & decluttering challenges for April. It's helping; productivity feels good! The 2nd challenge was to attack the kitchen cabinets, drawers, pantry, stockpiling area. We were given 'permission' to take several days...good thing! This is an area that is not completely done yet. But I do have a few items checked off the list:
Note: I DID find some UFOs!!! You must have some of those as well? You know...unidentified found objects...things that you kept but don't know what their original use was or perhaps you can recognize what it is, but don't know what it goes with. Like a key. A key to something unknown... but before you toss all of these items, you decide that these UFOs look important enough to keep in your possession for a little while longer... just in case.
Before: where I make my morning brew
After: just the necessities
We still have 'stuff' on our refrigerator (on this side only). I try to keep it to a minimum: emergency #s, library #, doctor's #s and our trusty bottle opener! And those little magnetic boxes I bought from Ikea. RIght now they're holding extra pens & a pair of reading glasses. And yes... I have a small collection of coffee cups. None that really match; most found at thrift stores.
After: Pantry refilled & organized
This was not too bad, but I did find some expired food stuffs crammed in the back. To tell the truth... I actually forgot I had some things in there, so this was a helpful challenge. I'm going to continue to clean & declutter the things for #2.
Wonder what #3 is?

Wow. Very impressive before and after! I love your little "coffee" counter! Cleaning is always one of my great challenges, so thank for the inspiration!

Loved the before and after! You did a great job with your cupboards. We just moved into our very first home and whether I wanted to or not...I decluttered everything. That's what packing up does for you. Like your site a lot so sent it on to Emily and Amy. Hugs to you, Ellen :-)
